Author's Journey

Meet the Author

I am an accomplished contemporary fiction author with a background in professional feature film screenwriting and a Master's in Communication Studies who has written five novels thus far. The Last Solo Roller was written originally as a screenplay. My passion for storytelling has led me to create the Down the Prairie Rabbit Hole Romance Series, following the triumphs and tribulations of a variety of colorful and loveable characters.

In between incomprehensible death-defying adventures and inexplicable and unexpected blessings from the spirit realm, I explore my imaginary friends' romantic relationship problems and interpersonal conflicts. Though my characters and their experiences seem larger than life, they really aren't so different from us and our own that we can't be inspired by and grow from their stories. It's better that they endure the ups and downs of walking the rocky red road of life than us, after all. Right?

A woman who looks like the author working on her laptop

Born in Virginia to an Army officer working at the Pentagon, my mother took me and four siblings to live in Florida after my dad left to serve in Korea. Then we moved to New York where he taught Military Science at Siena College. A few years in beautiful Germany after that was followed by an idyllic time in Fort Riley, Kansas. It was where I caught fireflies and watched daily for the tornado that never came.

When he retired, we moved to San Diego, California, where I eventually married and had three sons. Then it was off to live in Seattle until Y2K, when we left for Missoula, Montana, on the eve of the millennium. Although I divorced and moved away over twenty years later, one son remains there. Another is in Tucson and the youngest is here in Colorado Springs. I have five grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, and a step-great-grandchild between the three.

I live with my best friend, Angel, a Ragdoll cat. Maybe someday when I tire of writing, I'll give romantic love a try again. I'm having far too much fun right now living it vicariously through my characters. ;o)

The Well
of Tears & Laughter

Just when you think you're happy enough...

Will Boone makes a terrible mistake when he presents Chris with an unusual and very astonishing fifth anniversary gift. She's so impressed with his surprise that he suddenly goes from a talented yet ordinary former midnight cowboy to a stud with extraordinary powers. Neither of them is then prepared when Will suddenly goes from "Superman" to a sexless shell of a crowd-pleasing rodeo stuntman after a horrific accident. Chris's unforeseen reaction to its aftermath threatens to tear their marriage apart. Neither Will nor Chris knows his new normal was meant to be, however. Will's daughter Molly's impetuous and dangerous decision to take the matter of her future into her own hands forces him to open up his heart to someone he has been holding out at arm's length for a long time. While Will must reflect on his life and consider accepting a crazy and unexpected challenge in an attempt to create a revised "new normal", an odd stranger with red dreadlocks on a California beach gives Molly a key with which to end her parents' marital meltdown. It takes Molly's novel interpretation of the grief process--helped by some good old-fashioned Greek philosophy--to lead Chris to face her demons and put herself and the cowboy on a new yet preordained path.
